Volunteers

Summerset is also staffed with middle and high school assistants and volunteers who have been trained to work with children in reading and writing. Since most were former campers themselves, this provides them with a unique understanding that fosters a bond between them and the campers. Our volunteers are a very special group of young adults who have high aspirations. Former volunteers have headed off to colleges such as UCLA, Dartmouth, Villanova, Hamilton, Georgetown, and Penn State, taking with them valuable lessons learned at Summerset.

WHY WE HAVE AN ABUNDANCE OF VOLUNTEERS:

As former campers, they love being here. They have been a part of the program since very young, first as campers and, now, as volunteers.

Each of our volunteers are special teenagers who have learned so much more than just working with young children.
